  6. Pre-requisites - English Submit proof of C in English 12, or EFP 12; or credit in any of a number of Camosun College first year English courses (e.g. ENGL 092); or assessment

  7. Pre-requisites - Math Submit proof of C+ in Principles in Math 11, or Pre-calculus 11, or MATH 073 or MATH 137 or MATH 172; or C in Principles of Math 12, or Applications of Math 12, or Foundations of Math 12, or MATH 093, or assessment.

  8. Pre-requisites Math and English credits from other institutions may be accepted check with the College Admissions office there may be a time limitation on those credits earned Camosun College offers the Math and English pre-requisite courses for academic upgrading check with College Admissions office

  9. Pre-requisites No significant computer knowledge required other than: How to cycle power on a desktop/laptop How to use a browser How to use email How to use a word processing application at a basic level

  12. Capstone Project Conducted annually since early 1980 s During the second year of study Students self organize into teams of 2-3 Software development projects either from within Camosun College or from external clients (mostly)

Capstone Project First term of second year to select project Second term of second year to meet with project clients, faculty advisors, and deliver a complete set of project requirements documentation Third term of second year to develop, test, and implement their projects Organize the Capstone Symposium event

  14. Course times during week Full time schedule: Usually 25 hours of lectures and labs per week Usually one day or part of the day with no scheduled lectures / labs Usually 8:30-4:30 with 1-2 hr lunch breaks Some courses require additional study or lab times outside of regular course hours

  15. Equipment CST does not require students to have a laptop CST has lab computers in three lab rooms OS agnostic = Windows or Linux or Mac are all welcome Lab sections are kept small (15-18 students)

  16. CST Intern Complete COOP WEP (Workplace Education Preparation) course Minimum GPA of 3.0 prior to the first work term, complete all academic term 1 and 2 courses, and be fully enrolled in the term preceding the work term.

  17. Course Study Schedule Full time study: At most 5 courses per term. Term A4 has 6 but that includes the initial Capstone course (Comp 297)

  18. After CST diploma Work Continue to other education institutions Possibly second year Computer Science at University of Victoria, University of Lethbridge
