
Connecteo Mobile Training for STEAH by RANOWASH Project
Providing distance training courses via mobile phone calls, the RANOWASH project aims to train 120 STEAH members in WASH sustainability. The training circuit covers various topics and capacity building, enhancing the knowledge and roles of STEAH agents in 8-day sessions facilitated by Connecteo and MEAH. The training includes modules on Introduction, IWRM, Sustainability, Monitoring, WASH Techniques, and roles of an STEAH member, followed by post-training IVRs and assessments.

Context, objectives and general principles OBJECTIVES CONTEXT GENERAL PRINCIPLES RANOWASH provides several trainings on different topics and capacity building to different actors, including to STEAH members. The current context of COVID-19 has led the project to review its way of delivering these various training courses. Therefore, RANOWASH entrusted to CONNECTEO the implementation of distance training courses via mobile phone calls to a target of 120 STEAH, in the 6 intervention regions of the project. Objective is to train a total of 120 STEAH, of which 80 by Connecteo and 40 by MEAH Provide basic WASH training to STEAH so that they can succeed their missions Equip STEAH with the knowledge of their roles and responsibilities towards WASH sustainability. Upgrade the knowledge of STEAH 4 trainers in total, 2 from Connecteo and 2 from MEAH Total duration of the training per STEAH: 30 minutes per day for 8 days, a total of 4 hours
Training Circuit STEP 1 STEP 3 STEP 2 PRE-CONTACT TRAINING MODULE POST TRAINING IVR Module I: INTRODUCTION DAY 1: Frameworks DAY 2: IWRM DAY 3: Sustainability DAY 4: Monitoring DAY 5: WASH Techniques At the end of each training, an IVR is sent to the STEAH. Trainer calls the STEAH to inform them about the objective of the training, how it works and sets a planning Objective: Send a post-training IVR to summarize the training and know the assessment by the trained STEAH Congratulate the STEAH for completing the training Assess the clarity of received training Provide a quick refresh of each section of the training >> Pre-contact lasts about 5mn per STEAH Module II: the 10 roles of an STEAH DAY 6: Protecting source catchment, the types of water infrastructure, monitoring reservoirs and pipes DAY 7: Monitoring private or shared connections, Monitoring infrastructure fitted with hand pumps, ensuring water quality DAY 8: Assessing user satisfaction, STEFI reports
