Objectives Identify characteristics of connections to the world "outside" that will impact students. Develop course "materials" (encompassing a broad range of possibilities) that will deliver subject material in a manner that highlights connections to the world "outside."
What is the Real World? What does it mean to connect course materials to your students world in a manner that is meaningful? Small groups discuss (15 min) Report out 1:45-2:15
How can we add connections? Break into small groups based on courses or subjects of interest. Discuss and develop target topics. Outline "connected" course materials and implementation plan What will you do and how will you make it happen? (30 minutes) 2:15-2:45
Break! Chat, walk around 2:45-3:00
Report Out Display and sharing of "connected" concept and action/implementation plan. (gallery walk or presentation) Feedback discussion for each proposal 3:00-3:30ish
