Bilateral meeting COM-HU Planned period: January 2019 (8-24 January, 2 days) Country Profile: some critical and irrelevant remarks, but lack of focus on some crucial issues, such as forestry First half day dedicated to discussions with stakeholders with the presence of the nature authorities, second day to discussions between the EC and different authorities One topic from COM so far: SAC designation HU suggestion: forestry and Natura 2000

  3. Bilateral meeting COM-HU - questions What is the Slovak experience with the bilateral meeting? How was the Country Profile used? Basis of discussion? Should there be questions in the document to discuss at the meeting? Which stakeholders did Slovakia involve? Which topics did you focus on and why? Any positive or negative outcomes? Did COM put any pressure on any sector to resolve conflicts with Natura 2000?

Nature directives reporting in Hungary - 2019 BD12 reporting Report submitted on deadline date (31 July) Three major sources of information: - national park directorates: strictly protected and colonially breeding bird species - EEE OP project (good data on population size of 83 medium rare species, surveys in 3.6% of the country in two years) - BirdLife Hungary data from Common Bird Census (many question marks )
