Consumer Perceptions of Green vs. Brown Energy
Consumer perceptions of renewable (green) and non-renewable (brown) energy sources are explored in this study conducted with UBC students. The study delves into how consumers view the attributes and qualities of green energy compared to brown energy, examining beliefs and attitudes towards both categories. The research questions aim to uncover differences in consumer perceptions based on the type of energy source and whether the evaluation is done individually or jointly. The findings shed light on biases and misconceptions surrounding green and brown energy choices.

Renewable Portfolio Standard 2016 PA 342 Section 28 (1) An electric provider shall achieve a renewable energy credit portfolio as follows: (a) In 2016 through 2018, a renewable energy credit portfolio that consists of at least the same number of renewable energy credits as were required under former section 27. (b) In 2019 and 2020, a renewable energy credit portfolio of at least 12.5% (c) In 2021, a renewable energy credit portfolio of at least 15%
What is a Renewable Energy Credit Portfolio? The sum of the renewable energy credits achieved by a provider for a particular year A limited substitution is allowed
