2. Background This presentation contains general update information on FGDC business activities. A list of the other agenda topics with references to their associated materials is also included. This presentation is intended as a read-ahead with only highlights of some of these activities being presented during the meeting. Questions on the included topics or content can be posed during the FGDC Business Update during the meetings. It is the responsibility of the attendees to review the material prior to the meeting, as per CG standard operating procedures. Committees Decision Summary Steering Committee membership and SC meeting Designation letter: Tim Petty, DOI, Assistant Secretary of Water and Science and FGDC Chair, signed a memo that is in the process to be distributed to member agencies through the President s Management Council. This memo asks agencies to: designate their Senior Agency Official for Geospatial Information (SAOGIs) to serve on the Steering Committee, and Register for a July Steering Committee meeting. The Steering Committee meeting is tentatively scheduled for July 26, 2018 4

5. CG and SC Monthly Membership Changes No changes this month 5

6. Steering Committee The next Steering Committee meeting is tentatively planned for July 26th. FGDC plans to hold a SC member orientation prior to the July meeting, pending identification of new SAOGIs. The Executive Committee will recommend SC action and decision on the following items: NSDI Strategic Plan New GeoPlatform contract approach GeoPlatform funding algorithm for FY2020 Designation of Coordination Group members Reinforce roles and responsibilities of A-16 6

FGDC Standards Endorsement Update The Coordination Group voted to recommend FGDC endorsement of the following standards: INCITS/ISO 19115-3:2016 Geographic information -- Metadata -- Part 3: XML schema implementation for fundamental concepts INCITS/ISO 19157-2:2016 Geographic information -- Data quality -- Part 2: XML schema implementation Results: 28 Affirmative/non-responses.
