INTRODUCTION Coscharis medical is a fully medical consultancy, pharmaceutical and diagnostic company. We are dedicated in our service to humanity through sourcing and providing of basic health amenities for the total populace at affordable prices for best customer's satisfaction. In furtherance of our services, we present to you our RADIOLOGY SOLUTION WITHOUT DARK ROOM.
The use of modern radio-diagnostic services to enhance and optimized patient diagnostic management cannot be over emphasized. In Nigeria, 97% of healthcare radio-diagnostic facilities are being run on a traditional old system. About 3% run on semi-digital procedure , while about 1% are on computed radiology. 0.01% of the 3% that run semi- digital are with the practice of a fixed direct digital radiography. In view of this, there is need to update the level of practice in our country and especially the tertiary institutions in Nigeria as we believe this will improve a lot of patient care.

There are so many other advantages as you would see on the course of this presentation. The teaching hospitals are the tertiary institutions, this means they are the last hope for an average Nigerian sick patient meaning that any unresolved case that is brought to the services of the teaching hospital means death to the patient. In other to reduce these incidence caused as a result of the disadvantages in accurate results and diagnosis being pointed unresolved, we bring this presentation on radiology diagnosis without dark room.
WHAT IS RADIOLOGY SOLUTION WITHOUT DARK ROOM It is the use of a Computed Radiography. This is a term used to describe a system that electronically records a radiographic image. Computed Radiographic systems use unique image receptors to capture an analog image and sophisticated readers to process the image and convert the information into a digital format. Since Computed Radiography (CR) utilizes digital technology, images may be electronically manipulated to adjust contrast and density. The computer-generated images obtained with CR can be displayed electronically and/or on film.
OR A DR (Digital radiography) system which uses a flat digital panel that can send image to the pc faster on exposure to x-ray imaging. It has a battery backup and reads in 3sec to get the image and can easily convert analogue to digital image to save or to print and this makes the processing of the image faster. NOTE: these solutions are green because they are not harmful to our environment like the chemical used for traditional radiology.
RADIOLOGY WITH DARK ROOM Radiology has to do with imaging and most people get this imaging using an X-ray (Analogue) machine which works with the film processor and a dark room where the film is being developed to get an image, otherwise called traditional radiology. These processes have been in use for long even till now. These processes (Traditional Radiology) cause delay in the workflow manner and the chemicals are toxic to our environment and also the radiologist because they are not green.
There are four key players in the provision of this services, they are: Agfa Carestream Konica Fujifilm Coscharis medical took a special time to study the products of all this other companies and came up with the decision in choosing for a representation Fujifilm products for the Nigerian environment.

COMPUTED RADIOLOGY Computed radiology has to do with the use of a cassette reader (CR) to digitize an analogue image. A complete CR system comprises of the following; CR machine PC + Workstation (software) Cassette with imaging plate (IP) Printer. PRIMA T2 SPECIFICATION It is used for general radiology in small centers It uses all the cassette sizes. It is a table top CR 4,500 exams can be stored and reviewed on the pc. It has a trolley though optional It has DICOM and PAC systems which is compactible to enable a work flow manner. Made with their core technologies which are multi- frequency processing (MFN), flexible noise control (FNC), grid pattern removal (GPR) focusing on quality image.

ADVANTAGES OF COMPUTED RADIOLOGY For their CR cassette, the imaging plate (IP) is made with phosphor and its reusable up to 5,000 times. While the analogue is only one single use of the film. Thus for the IP being reusable, it is a very good innovation for the radiographer to minimize cost. Less file space: image and patients data can be stored by creating a file space on the pc for easy recall or print out. For one imaging, it can store up to 5,000 times. It replaces the dark room without touching the X-ray. No need for the use of chemicals (Cost effective) and less harm for the radiographer. It is a closed system, meaning for each hospital that purchases the FCR, it s only the Fuji film that they will be using. Teleradiology, because of the DICOM connectivity, it promotes the work flow manner in the form of information sharing among the radiology sections (MRI SUITE, CT-SCAN) etc. Improved diagnostic accuracy. Images can be edited.
DIGITAL RADIOLOGY(DR) This is used to convert an analogue x-ray into a digital image. It has a digital cassette (DR) or otherwise called a flat panel detector (FDR). In this case, there is no need for CR; the image is being transferred directly to the pc. I will use this simple illustration: Analogue x-ray table +DR cassette+ printer = digital X- ray.

SPECIAL PANEL FOR PEADIATRIS AND LONG SPINE EXAMINATION Fuji film has a special DR panel for Pediatric which allows a low dosage of x-ray.
The connection can be between the computer and the cassette can either be by wire or wireless connection. The wire mode has charger while the wireless used Wi-Fi connection. DP has the highest speed than the CR and it is good for Emergency room and large centers. It is not used for Mammography but can be used for general X-ray. The DP wireless can be detached and used for the chest bulky table or the X-ray table. For the DP, 3sec, it reads the first preview on changing the patient position, 9sec with wire and 12sec with wireless to get the full image.
