Grade 12 Course Planning Seminar Planning for graduation and beyond

Career Life Connections/Capstone There are four different options for students to take Career Life Connections 12: 1. CLC 12 + Work Experience, Youth Work in Trades or Youth Train in Trades program (> 8+ credits earned) 2. CLC + Post-Secondary Preparation 12 (8 credits earned) 3. CLC + PHE Teachers Assistant 12 (8 credits earned) 4. CLC 12 + Study (4 credits earned)
You must write a numeracy and a literacy assessment for graduation. Achievement levels 1-4 will appear on transcript Multiple attempts are allowed Literacy Assessment 12 Numeracy Assessment 10
Electives Other than English Studies 12 and CLC, everything else you select is up to you. There are MANY options for fulfilling the remaining credits. Talk to your current teachers about grade 12 electives. Mr. Quilty can explain trade-related programs. Consider Work Experience! See Mr. Ramsay in the counselling centre. The Course Catalogue online has descriptions of everything available.
SAS Honours Certificate Program Challenging course of study for students intending to enter post-secondary school. Students must take a full load of courses at SAS in a specific discipline over grades 11 & 12. A minimum average 73% (B) must be maintained. Declare at Grade 11 course selection time for an Honours Certificate.
Scholarship Considerations There are mandatory courses and elective courses, but keep in mind, bursary eligibility at grad may be impacted by: part-time schedules academic rigor taking advantage of SAS course offerings character integrity hard work positive attitude academic honesty

How and When do I Apply for Post-Secondary? Most university and college websites are open for applications at the beginning of October. Apply early. Deadlines vary by PSI. Make sure you have the pre-requisite courses for your desired program.
