  2. 1. Resume - How Long? 1. Resume should be 1- 2 pages tops (typically government resumes are 5-8 pages 2. People do look at typos 3. Put in relevant keywords to the job 4. Volunteer and internships 5. Anything personal you mention should be related to the job 6. Yes - have a cover letter - many recruiters appreciate this

  3. How to figure out your skills to use? I enjoy talking with people - Customer Service Always organize parties or clubs - - organized, project management, leadership Math - I enjoy reports - analytical, reports, accounting, detail-oriented Creative, teams - motivated team builder, marketing, projects Also learn what you don t like - by making this list, you can build talking points of why you are the ideal candidate for the job. 1) What I enjoy doing 2) What I don t enjoy doing. 3) Look at the job description and see if it matches your skill set

  4. Research the Company Know about the company not just the job - may be a point you can include on the cover letter to help you stand out. 1) Who is the CEO 2) How many locations do they have? How many employees? Languages? 3) What do they sell and promote -why? What is the culture like? 4) Search their social media - have they been in the news? 5) Is it small or large?

  5. Include clubs and volunteer work I volunteered at a food bank This shows that as a candidate that you have the following skills: 1) Team player 2) Self motivated 3) Customer service 4) organized 5) Cares about people - so probably works well with other on projects

  6. Include sports I worked at a retail or helps managed a sport team This shows that as a candidate that you have the following skills: 1) Team player 2) Knows how to motivate others 3) Enjoy leading 4) Likes project work 5) Strategic 6) Easily adaptable and thrives under pressure

Include school /academic I worked well at school - (think what you enjoy ) This shows that as a candidate that you have the following skills: 1) Share your academic achievements 2) What classes did you excel in and why so you can show your strengths 3) Consistency and dedicated 4) Likes project work 5) Excellent verbal and written skills 6) Easily adaptable and thrives under pressure 7) Knows what type of work
