By far the most challenging of all the speeches. Not only is likely to be the longest but also the most research intensive. The speaker takes the stage to deliver a spell-binding speech on the life of Robert Burns: his literary genius, his politics, his highs and lows, his human frailty and - most importantly - his nationalism. It is a tribute to Burns, his work, and ultimately, a personal take on his greatness. His immortality. It s customary to include examples of his work.
