Resume Writing Bonner Community Engagement Curriculum
Learning Outcomes Students will reflect on and translate their full college experience to a resume. Students will develop a master resume that articulates their Bonner experience and could be adapted for different job opportunities.
Outline 1. Opening Remarks and Examples suggested time 15 minutes 2. Reviewing Major Components suggested time 10 minutes 3. Translating Your Bonner Experience suggested time 30 minutes 4. Pair Share, Search, Next Steps suggested time 30 minutes 5. Closing suggested time 5 minutes
Chronological Resume: A chronological resume, is a resume that list your experiences in order from most recent to least recent.
Chronological Resume: Put the most recent experience at the top and the oldest at the bottom.
Chronological Resume: Consider putting the month you started and the month you ended to help narrow down your time frame for your employer.
Functional Resume: A functional resume is one that groups your skills, in order to highlight skills wanted for the job. Often the experience is still organized in chronological order.
Functional Resume: Based on the career you are applying, set up your qualifications, experience, and skills.
Functional Resume: This resume is good for someone that has a lot of job breaks, career changes, or is having trouble organizing their job experience. Highlight the skills that pertain to your perspective job
Curriculum Vitae Resume: A Curriculum Vitae Resume (CVR) is a resume that highlights your academic experiences and the skills gained from them. It is primarily used when applying for jobs in research, academic or science fields.
Curriculum Vitae Resume: Put your degree and achievements. If you have completed a thesis or done research, include the title of that work and your supervisor.
