Key Stage 4 Guided Choices Year 9 into 10 Subject: Creative iMedia Team Leader: Mr Walsh
Course Topics iMedia consists of 3 units:- 2 Coursework units and 1 Written Exam Unit. The coursework topics are: - Visual Identity and Digital Graphics (Graphics/Image Software) - Digital Games (Construct 3) Exam Creative iMedia in the Media Industry which takes the knowledge from the coursework topics into a written exam.
Which skills does the course require? The course requires students to have an interest in technology, be interested in the creative side of IT, be able to work to coursework deadlines and are interested in a career in Digital Graphics, IT, Art or any other creative jobs.
How is the course assessed? 3 Units 1 Written Exam Paper 40% can be sat multiple times, Externally Assessed. 2 Coursework units completed in lesson 25% Graphics Unit (25%), Games Design Unit (35%), internally assessed and then externally moderated.
Careers Links Cambridge Nationals in Creative iMedia are media sector-focused, including Film, Television, Web Development, Gaming and Animation, and have IT at their heart. They provide knowledge in a number of key areas in this field from pre-production skills to Digital Graphics, Animation, Game Design and have a motivating, hands-on approach to both teaching and learning. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) Is this a GCSE? No, it s a vocational qualification with equivalent grades. Can I resit units? Yes Will I find out my unit grades? Yes, you will be given then teacher assessment however it still needs to be externally moderated so may change.

What are my favourite parts of the course? My favourite part of the course is that you can always track your progress and know what you need to do to improve. Our KS3 curriculum gives you the relevant skills to access the course practically in terms of operating the industry standard software. The modular approach of the course means you can focus on one bit at a time. Higher coursework percentage 60% means that your overall grade is in your hands.
