Dabke, a joyful form of traditional line and circle dancing, originates in the Middle Eastern culture. It is practiced in the mountains of the Levantine region which includes Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria. Dabke is usually performed at weddings, special occasions, and family gatherings by a large group of people interlocking arms, tapping, stomping their feet, and singing or chanting. It is a means to share historical narratives and vibrant folk legacies. On the culinary side, Mansaf is a traditional Jordanian dish made of lamb cooked in a sauce of fermented dried yogurt and served with rice or bulgur.
