Daily Planning Meeting components Meteorology forecasts East Asia and Korea Chemical, aerosol and tracer forecasts Continental-scale East Asia Local Korea & Seoul Satellite products (MOPITT, MODIS, GOCI, etc.) Predicted satellite overpass times and tracks Discuss next flight or 2 Ground site conditions Ships?
Early morning: Prepare forecasts Each person in the field will be assigned a specific objective (e.g., Seoul plume location, inflow, biomass burning) and prepare a presentation taking into account all models and satellite images related to that science topic. The presentation should focus on the next flight (1-2 days ahead), but a brief outlook could be done for the flight after the next one.
8-10 am: Daily planning meeting For flight planners, forecasters, and any others interested Summary of meteorology Summary of forecasts of each objective Discussion and decision on flight plan (or decision to not fly)
Afternoons 2 pm: Science Meeting to share preliminary results (on days without flights) Afternoon: Updated chemical forecasts might be prepared based on a flight plan decision for the next day. Nowcasting: During a flight, it might be helpful to have a meteorologist and chemical forecaster monitoring conditions.
