Data Fabric (DF) Metadata DF is fundamentally a concept an set of components creating an information processing management ecosystem. Individual configurations, e.g., DFconfig1, DFconfig2, etc., need to be described. Individual components (services of all kinds: processing, storage, instruments, etc) need to be described The information objects that live in the ecosystem need to be described.
Data Fabric (DF) Metadata for Configurations Name (ID) Provenance Permissions Human level description what is the intent of this configuration Components (IDs) Intended Role(s) Relationship(s) to other components
Data Fabric (DF) Metadata for Components Name (ID) Provenance Permissions Human level description what is the intended function of this component APIs, technical documentation, associated public services, etc. Back links to DF configurations using this component, if known
Data Fabric (DF) Metadata for Information Objects Name (ID) Data Type (ID) Data Type registered in a DTR with its own metadata, including what is needed to parse and understand the data Provenance Permissions
