Dave cooks the turkey is a lovely short story about responsibility and trust between partners. It centers around Dave trying to cook a Christmas turkey to show commitment to his wife, Morley. However, Dave has to scramble to complete this task after forgetting to even buy the turkey, which leads him down a path of quick fixes and shortcuts. In the end, Dave gets the turkey on the table but learns a valuable lesson and gains a newfound appreciation for his wife.
