  4. Introduction It may be preferable to deactivate an electronic collection if the institution wishes to temporarily no longer make it accessible to the end user. In this case there may be a chance that in the future they will wish to reactivate it. If the institution no longer wishes to have an electronic collection accessible now or in the future then it may be preferable to delete it. In this way it will no longer appear in discovery (as it will not be published) and it will no longer appear in the repository search. 4

  10. Deleting the electronic collection To delete the electronic collection search for it and choose Delete . 10

Deleting the electronic collection After clicking Delete" you will be prompted to choose how you want to handle the bibliographic record which (before deletion) is linked to the electronic collection. The options are: Delete bibliographic record(s) Do nothing Suppress bibliographic record(s) As we will see in the next slide, in this scenario we are choosing to delete the bibliographic record. 11
