Focus Group Goals Problems We Are Trying To Solve Our research is trying to measure: Legal Evolution of membership make-up since 2000 (eligibility, demographics, new job titles, etc.) Management industry s continuous state of change (functional specialties, technological advances, fee structures, increased competition, etc.) How much a part of the ALA identity is the name itself? Is legal administrator limiting? How much part of ALA s identity is the word association ?
Focus Group Structure 2017 Annual Conference Plan Invite-only, with 10-15 participants, 45-60 minutes Utilize days/times during Virtual Conference session recording Cover three of the four topics of discussion ALA s Identity 1. ALA s Members 2. ALA & the Day-to-Day Role 3. Legal Management Industry 4. Leader: Board member* *plus Board member acting as recorder
