DENMAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN 2023-2024 Q GOAL 1: STUDENT SUCCESS District Q Goal 1 Denman will increase student achievement and student growth in Reading as measured by the NWEA Measures of Academic Progress Assessment from Fall 2023 to Spring of 2024. Maximize achievement and growth for all. Denman will increase student achievement and student growth in Math as measured by the NWEA Measures of Academic Progress Assessment from Fall to 2023 to Spring of 2024 Performance Measures (Data/Progress Monitoring) NWEA MAP Achievement Status and Growth Projection or Summary NWEA MAP School Profile Report (Achievement Percentile Measures) student achieving 60th percentile or above Grade level team meeting notes and reflections (Data Analysis Protocol) ACTION SCHOOL LEVEL TASKS School leadership team will conduct school-wide data analysis of MAP reports after each assessment window by consulting grade level results and the results of individual student groups. (Q: Who is demonstrating success? Who is not?) Grade level teams will review grade level MAP data and reports to make recommendations for students needing additional support/enrichment. Grade level teachers will utilize classroom data to inform instruction for all students. School Wide Data Analysis School Leadership team will provide professional learning and guidance around the PLC+ framework to grade level teams. School Leadership team will model and support grade level teams through Collective Efficacy Cycles Grade level teams will use a data analysis protocol to identify grade level needs and the needs of specific student groups. Focus on PLC+ and Collective Efficacy

DENMAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN 2023-2024 Q GOAL 2: EFFECTIVE INSTRUCTION District Q Goal 2 Denman Elementary teachers will engage in professional learning focused on increasing student engagement during the 2023-2024 school year. Engage in critical thinking and problem solving for all. Performance Measures (Data/Progress Monitoring) Student Engagement Surveys through Panaroma for 3-5 grades NISL Student Engagement Probes ACTION SCHOOL LEVEL TASKS Focus on understanding dimensions of Engagement School Leadership team will provide professional learning on the balanced model for optimal learning. The center of the model is Engagement with Relationships, Challenge, and Teacher Clarity intersecting. School Leadership team will provide professional learning on Productive Struggle. Collective Efficacy cycles around student engagement with a focus on Challenge (Stamina, Strategic Thinking, and Struggle That Builds Expertise). Focus on Inquiry-based learning School Leadership team will provide professional learning on inquiry-based learning that promotes deeper thinking. Instructional Coaches will model and support teacher learning through coaching cycles.

DENMAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN 2023-2024 Q GOAL 3: LEARNING ENVIRONMENT District Q Goal 3 Denman Elementary staff will develop an understanding of trauma-based knowledge and restorative practices to provide a safe, healthy, and adaptive learning environment for all. Maintain secure, healthy, and adaptive schools for all. Performance Measures (Data/Progress Monitoring) Panaroma data will be monitored weekly Skyward Discipline Data monitored weekly in Tier 2 meetings, Monthly with grade level teams, and Quarterly whole school House System Weekly and Quarterly Data ACTION SCHOOL LEVEL TASKS Developing Trauma Knowledge and Skills ROE will provide professional learning on Trauma in four sessions (Session 1: Introduction to Trauma and the Brain, Session 2: Self-Regulation for Staff, Session 3: Proactive Regulation for School Systems and Coregulation, and Session 4: Regulate Relate Reason- Strategies for Classrooms and Schools). Implementation of MTSS School Leadership Team and Teachers will focus on implementing Behavior Procedures for category 1 and 2 behaviors. School Leadership Team will provide professional learning on Restorative Practices utilizing the Restorative Practices Playbook.

  4. DENMAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN 2023-2024 Q GOAL 4: PARTNERSHIPS District Q Goal 4 Denman Elementary staff will focus on enhancing school and parent/family communication. Cultivate partnerships with parents, families, and the Quincy community to create successful pathways for all. Performance Measures (Data/Progress Monitoring) Skyward Student Attendance and Truancy Daily, Weekly, and Quarterly Data Tracking of parent interactions through Seesaw School Event Parent Attendance ACTION SCHOOL LEVEL TASKS School leadership team and the Seesaw ambassador will provide professional learning on Seesaw. The focus will be on how families can have a front row seat to their child s learning through trimester digital museums. Teachers will provide monthly classroom newsletters and/or vlogs about instructional learning. School leadership team and teachers will provide videos or vlogs to families about focused learning areas and events. School-wide parent/family communication
