  1. UNCLASSIFIED MOU Exercise Scenario: Rwanda has been requested by DPKO at UNHQ to deploy an independent infantry company of 250 personnel as QRF for six months to UNMISS during elections. AOR is the city of Juba with suburbs. Deployment of equipment is scheduled to take place by the United Nations (contractor) through Uganda on June 1, 2019. Personnel will be deployed by UN Air on 2ndJune direct from Kigali. The unit will be accommodated by the UN in vacant HW accommodation in Tomping Camp near Juba airport. Accommodation includes with kitchens, sewage, parking, and other usual services. Water (purified for drinking) is available at a nearby UN WTP. Raw water is available in pipes at the camp (80 liters/man/day. The unit is to be self-sufficient in rations and BW for three days on arrival (initial provisioning). After that period, the Mission will provide rations (fresh, frozen, dry) to the RWCOY camp. Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) 1

Assuming a total of six months deployment (180 days) for each soldier with 15 days leave out of the mission, what is the total daily allowance for each soldier (over the period of six months)? 3. What is the individual leave entitlement for this period? 4. What is the total leave allowance?   8. UNCLASSIFIED MOU Exercise Exercise 4 (45 minutes): The distance on the agreed consignment route from the POE (Kigali) to the POD (Nimule) via Kampala is 950 KM (562,1 Miles). What is the Incremental Transportation Factor applicable to spare parts and consumables under wet lease under the MOU? Answer: Zero. The incremental transportation factor applies to increments of 500 miles beyond the first 500 miles along the consignment route. The estimated maintenance rate under the wet lease reimbursement rates already include a 2% standard compensation for resupply of spare parts and minor equipment for maintenance and repairs. The self-sustainment rates also include a premium of 2% to compensate for the cost of transportation of self-sustainment resupply. Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) 8
