Who will be teaching you? Miss Banton Miss Ensor Mr Pillinger
A brief outline of what to expect Year 12 Year 13 In year 12 you will be undertaking 3-4 projects which will link to the theory knowledge that you will need for the exam. In year 13 you will be applying all the knowledge that you have gained. This will be demonstrated through 2 exams and a final portfolio of a project of your choosing. There are a series of independent study tasks that you can undertake to ensure that you are keeping up with the knowledge you will need. You will be graded by: Exam 1: Technical principles 2 hrs 30 mins 30% of overall grade Past Projects have included: Upcycling Pallets Nylon Mallets Mahogany presents Copper pots Pewter Casting 50p rings Reverse engineering Copper Bangles Designing and Making Principles- 1hr 30mins 20% of overall grade NEA-Non-exam Assessment (project)- 50% of overall grade
Summer work for year 11 explained Your teacher have created 10 tasks for you to do. These are skills based tasks and are designed to improve the skills you will need for the A- Level. In the absence of an exam they will also be used as an opportunity for you to gauge your suitability for the course. Make sure you bring these in when you start back at school.
