The DESY test beam in October 2015 aimed to achieve higher statistics with electrons, test new compact designs from TAU, and undergo setup discussions for equipment assembly. The discussion touched on the feasibility of making changes during the run and the importance of prior assembly tests. Expert availability and proposals for setup modifications were also highlighted.

  1. General discussion on DESY test beam Oct 2015 What is the aim of this test beam week ? What are the different set-up versions we want ? very likely you can not get all you might want 1 Konrad Elsener, FCAL hardware meeting, 16 June 2015

  2. CERN PS test beam Oct 2014 we have 11 W-plates (+ 2 steel plates, not used) we had 4 sensor planes 2 Konrad Elsener, FCAL hardware meeting, 16 June 2015

  3. General discussion on DESY test beam Oct 2015 What is the aim of this test beam week ? 1. higher statistics with electrons 2. testing new compact designs from TAU 3. ? 4. ?? 3 Konrad Elsener, FCAL hardware meeting, 16 June 2015

  4. General discussion on DESY test beam Oct 2015 Remember: it was easy (for the well-trained experts) to put additional tungsten plates in front of the stack However: it will be very difficult to completely change the stack during the run there is a risk to loose out on everything 4 Konrad Elsener, FCAL hardware meeting, 16 June 2015

  5. REMINDER on experts Francois-Xavier Nuiry is no longer available (except very short moments at CERN) Jakub ? Przemek ? Szymon Sroka at CERN this will be his year of learning about the FCAL set-up (supervisor: Wolfgang Klempt) NB. In our view it is impossible to envisage the test beam at DESY without prior assembly tests at the latest end of September, of the full equipment incl. TAU mechanics + sensors + electronics (at CERN ? at Cracow ? to be discussed) 5 Konrad Elsener, FCAL hardware meeting, 16 June 2015

  6. General discussion on DESY test beam Oct 2015 if we start like this (to be consistent with PS test beam): we will only be able to add new TAU compact assemblies at the BACK Proposal: use the existing two steel plates with new compact assemblies taped on them, in the first two slots after the stack in the BACK; should be installed from the start of the test beam 6 Konrad Elsener, FCAL hardware meeting, 16 June 2015
