Development Goals Process and Implementation Overview
Involving High-Level Panels, Open Working Groups, and the UNSG Synthesis Report, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were set with 17 goals and 169 targets in 2014. The journey continued in 2015 with significant events like the Addis Ababa Agreement on financing the SDGs and the Paris Climate Agreement. Looking ahead, the focus is on intergovernmental negotiations, national policy implementation, progress monitoring, financial commitments, and stakeholder engagement post-agreement on the SDGs.
