ISPESH 2024 INTRODUCTION Education is one of the most basic needs to improve the quality of life of the whole human being. Consciously or unconsciously, education has made changes to human development, both in science and technology, all of which are inseparable from the role of teachers. In this modern era, there are still many teachers who teach more dominating in learning, especially in physical education subjects, so that students accept more and only follow what the teacher says, this makes students feel afraid if there is a mistake in learning, so that there are some students who do not dare to ask questions if they do not understand and just follow without knowing the benefits of learning (Sidharta, 2015). 1 Background education is an opportunity to improve students' physical fitness and instill healthy living habits, with the aim of encouraging balanced growth and development. Volleyball sports games belong to the open skill group. That is, it is a skill in which the execution of movements is constantly influenced by the environment (the stimulus changes in such a way that the player cannot plan a coordinated response (reaction)). Self-concept is one of the internal factors and also a very important foundation for success. Not only success in academics, but more importantly success in life. Because self-concept is a person's opinion about himself. Self-concept can be formed from a person's experience, either from family, environment or school Self-concept is an assessment of personal self-propriety expressed in attitudes, that a person has about himself". (Harjasuganda, 2008) 2
ISPESH 2024 INTRODUCTION Background are still students in grade VIII-i of SMP Negri 12 Bandung City that lack confidence during physical education learning. Of course, this is concerning if students in grade VIII-i of SMP Negri 12 Bandung City lack the self-concept to be able to realize all the abilities they have to the maximum. Seeing the lack of development of students' self-concept in participating in learning. There are obstacles felt by students during the learning process and there has never been research on the development of self-concept in the school, so it is necessary to conduct research to answer the problem.

ISPESH 2024 METHODS Classroom action research Sampel Data collection technique Teacher Observation Sheet students of class VIII-i totaling 32 people (15 boys and 17 girls) at SMPN12 BANDUNG CITY. Data analysis Descriptive analysis Research Instrument (Questionnaire)
ISPESH 2024 RESULT In the results of the initial condition before being given the treatment of learning volleyball games through a questionnaire test, there were still no students who met the criteria for completeness. Furthermore, entering cycle 1 action 1, there were changes in several students, an increase in completeness by (25%), namely 8 students who completed and 24 students who were still incomplete (75%). Then in the next cycle, namely 1 action 2, there was an increase again, namely (59%), namely 19 students who were declared complete and 13 students who were declared incomplete (41%). Then the research continued to cycle 2 because there were still some students who still did not reach the criteria for completeness that had been determined. In cycle 2 action 1, as many as 25 students or (78%) have been able to meet the criteria, while 7 students (12%) have not been able to meet the criteria. Therefore, it ends in cycle 2 action 2 where all students succeed in completing the criteria of self-concept development.
ISPESH 2024 DISCUSSION The research was conducted at SMP Negri 12 Bandung City which is located on jl. Dr.Setiabudi Kel.Gegerkalong Kec.Sukasari No.195 Bandung City, West Java 40153. The participants of this study are students, namely class VIII-i which amounted to people (15 boys and 17 girls) with a total of 32 students. In this study, the researcher plays the role of a teacher in the classroom as well as an observer who observes the development of self-concept through learning volleyball games. It was concluded that learning volleyball games was able to develop students' self-concept in grade VIII-i of SMP Negeri 12 Bandung City. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that, the learning process of the volleyball game makes students' self-concept increase, so that students become more accepting of their limitations, feel capable in every activity, feel recognized by the surrounding environment, then there is reciprocity between students that produces self-concept between students and other students is good and also students to other school communities
ISPESH 2024 The conclusion that can be drawn from the findings is that there is an impact on the development of self-concept in the learning of volleyball sports games for students in grade VIII-i at SMPN 12 Bandung City. It is evidenced by the increase in value at each stage and cycle of the questionnaire that is distributed. The implementation process of self-concept development learning volleyball games using several indicators, namely feeling recognized in the surrounding environment, feeling able to carry out their responsibilities, accepting, themselves, accepting their limitations.
