Minims, Dotted Minims and Semibreves!
We have already learnt about Quavers which last for half a beat, and Crotchets which last for one beat.
This is a Minim. It lasts for TWO beats. It looks a little like an egg with a tail!
When a Minim is joined by a little black dot, it becomes a Dotted Minim. This lasts for THREE beats.
This is a Semibreve. It lasts for FOUR beats. It does not have a tail!
