Digitalization what has been converted to digital form? news (articles, shows) media (books, photos, video) communication content (mobile) social connections & interactions (online social networks) information in general (encyclopedias, scientific literature)
So what? Digitalization allows us to act in new ways access many sources of information instant communication Digitalization makes it easier to maintain a record... store information about events, opinions & interactions and study it look back and analyze what we have done and perhaps change course
Example Digitalization allows us to discuss politics on the Web Then we observe how we discuss and (perhaps) do not like what we see tribal politics, echo chambers (Perhaps) we will reflect and become better at it
My focus Information diets what information do we consume online? what worldview do we shape based on it? Social interactions in political context who do we interact with? structure of interactions what does it reveal?
