THAILAND By: Drew Eller
LOCATION Absolute Location: 16 29', 68 8'W Thailand is located in the eastern and southern hemispheres, in southeast Asia. It is bordered by the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand.
PLACE The climate is tropical monsoon, which means that soil is very fertile in this region and rice growing is very popular there. The primary language is Thai and the main religions are Buddhism and Hinduism. The cultures are based upon animism. Thailand's cultures are based off of its nearby countries which are: India, China, and Cambodia.
MOVEMENT The goods transported around are moved by railways, planes, and cars which are lots of times forced to travel on unpaved roads. People like to live in this country because of the amazing cultures and beautfil fertile land. Although there is lots of available land, the GDP per capita is very low, which is a reason many people don t prefer to live there. Rice and vehicle parts are the most exported goods. Petroleum and gold are the most imported.
REGION Thailand has the 22nd largest economy in the world(36th most complex). They have a constitutional monarchy and are well associated with bordering countries. For the most part they have good freedom and rights, with a few exceptions.
HUMAN-ENVIRONMENT INTERACTION Many people who move into this country quickly adapt to the land they are given and become rice farmers. They use natural resources such as fertile soil and lumber. The majority of people living in this country live in Bangkok, the capital, or they live near the coast. People who don t live in one of these two places are most- likely rice farmers. It is a market based economy, there are lots of trades that happen because not very many people see too much money in their lifetimes living in this country.
RESEARCH GUIDE The main food enjoyed by this country is fried noodles. A unique species found here is a tropical sheatfish, it is foreign and lives in caves.
