  1. Family Activity Grid A FUN WAY TO TRY DIFFERENT FITNESS CHALLENGES DURING HEALTH WEEK

  2. How to get started: 1. Draw up a 3x3 or 4x4 grid. 2. Decide on an activity for each box and write it in. 3. Try and vary the types and lengths of the activities, maybe choose some indoor and outdoor activities. 4.The key is getting a good variety. 5. Choose activities that suit your family think about age range and ability.

  3. Skipping for 10 minutes no rope, just pretend. Yoga lots of great sessions on Cosmic Kids Star Jumps 3 sets of 30 Go for a 20 minute walk outside Dance either put on some tunes and dance about or try -Just Dance/Oti Mabuse/Youtube Kick a ball about outside Do a Joe Wicks workout. Go out for a cycle/rollerskate/ An example of a 4 x 4 grid skateboard/scooter Burpees The Floor is Lava - make an obstacle course around the room! Jogging on the spot 1 minute, rest for 30 secs, 1 min jogging, repeat. Plank challenge how long can you hold a plank? Can you build up your time? 3 sets of 10 Lamp post shuttle runs. Run from one lamp post to the next and back again 10 times. Press Up/Wall press ups Squats as if you are sitting on an invisable chair. 3 sets of 30 Play catch if you haven t got a ball roll up a pair of socks. 3 sets of 10

  4. There are different ways to select an activity: 1. Throw a counter/coin and do the activity it lands on. Time to Decide which activity 2. Select someone to choose an activity. to do. 3. Have everyone s name one a small piece of paper and pick out a name from a tub. Once you have selected your activity you could colour in the box to show that it has been done or write the date in the box.

  5. How many can you do throughout the week? Challenge Time. Can you make the activities harder for older children or adults? Most importantly have fun being active together.
