Admission Requirements 90% attendance Good Behavior Advanced or Proficient on MAP /above 50thpercentile on standardized tests in all subject areas Cs or better in Core classes, you may have one D in elective courses and still qualify 1-2 recommendation forms (linked on application) Applicant essay Interviews upon request

Application and Selection Process 1) Application through the Magnet School website -November 6th 2) District verifies residency (Lottery eligible) 3) Metro verifies that you meet the eligibility requirements 4) Lottery/Notification from SLPS in late November * We do not rank applications -only mark them eligible

International Baccalaureate (IB) International Baccalaureate (IB) Progamme Progamme Provides students with a balance of subject breadth and depth that considers the nature of knowledge across disciplines through the theory of knowledge course. Encourages international-mindedness. Emphasizes the development of the whole student- intellectually, emotionally, physically and ethically. IB classes can be taken during students 11th and 12th grade years. Choose between IB Certificate or IB Diploma Program.

  14. International Baccalaureate (IB) Jr/Sr Year Certificate Earn a certification in any of the course groups. (Please refer to the academic plan sheet) Diploma Complete and earn a qualifying score in six IB courses. Complete and earn a qualifying score in Theory of Knowledge (TOK ) class. Write and score well on Extended Essay (4,000 words) Complete the Community, Action, Service (CAS) Program.

Advance Placement (AP) According to the College Board, students who take AP courses send a signal to colleges that they re serious about their education and that they re willing to challenge themselves with rigorous course work. Students learn essential time management and study skills needed for college and career success. Students dig deeper into subjects that interest them, and learn to tap their creativity and their problem-solving skills to address course challenges.
