Purpose of John John 20:30-31 That you may believe pisteuo: believe pisteuete (personal ending: present subjunctive active): that you may keep on believing.

Purpose of John that you may believe (present active subjunctive: keep on believing) that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing (present participle: continuing to believe) you may have (present active subjunctive: keep on having) life in His name.

John 13 John 10:17-18 "Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. (18) No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father. Matthew 26:53 Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels?

Jesus, the Servant Mark 10:43-45 Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. (44) And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. (45) For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."

Make me a Servant Romans 15:2-3 Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification. (3) For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, "THE REPROACHES OF THOSE WHO REPROACHED YOU FELL ON ME."

Make me a Servant 1 John 3:16-18 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. (17) But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? (18) My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
