  1. DISCOVERING MISSIONAL LIVING

  2. What is our mission?

  3. MATTHEW 28:18-20 18And Jesus came and said to them, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.19Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[b]the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

  4. 2 CORINTHIANS 5:17-21 17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.18All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;19that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.20Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.21For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

  5. Our mission as a church as well as individuals is to make disciples of all nations because we desire all people to be reconciled to God.

  6. WHY BE ON MISSION?

  7. WE ARE COMMANDED TO BE ON MISSION (Matthew 28:18-20) 18And Jesus came and said to them, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.19Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[b]the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

  8. WRATH IS COMING APART FROM THE GOSPEL (Romans 1:18-25)

  9. BEING ON MISSION IS FOR OUR GOOD (Philemon :6) 6and I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ

  10. BEING ON MISSION IS THE NATURAL OVERFLOW OF A CHANGED LIFE (Acts 4:19-21) 19But Peter and John answered them, Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge,20for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.

  11. WE ARE THE MEANS TO GODS ENDS (2 Corinthians 5:18-20) 18All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;19that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.20Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

  13. WHAT IS THE RESULT OF OUR MISSION?

  14. REDEEMED PEOPLE (Ephesians 2:1-10) And you were dead in the trespasses and sins2in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience 3among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.4But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,5even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ by grace you have been saved

  15. REDEEMED PEOPLE (Ephesians 2:1-10) cont. 6and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,7so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.8For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,9not a result of works, so that no one may boast.10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

  16. REDEEMED WORLD (Revelation 7:15-17) 15 Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence. 16They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat. 17For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
