  9. It's daylight now, a grey but full light, and the wispy fog has lifted. Down the hill lies the small valley that shelters the Grand Hotel. To the right, the rusting towers of Ski Slope rise. In the other direction, I see the landfill, the road to Kildevil, and the town itself, tucked against the shore. The bay looks like little more than a wide river. Across it, green and grey hills seem to roll forever. The land spreads before us like a beautiful cloth. 9

  21. PERSON VS SELF CONFLICT Blay thinks of her future but also of Marella's during the tests, Blay realizes she is the person William is searching for but doesn't know whether or not she should tell the truth 21
