  9. Changes for 2024-2025: Single Session Test Tickets Single session test tickets begin with 2024 winter administration of Keystone Exams. Separate test tickets for each Keystone Exam module or PSSA section. Prevents students from logging into an incorrect module or section. Test tickets are secure materials and must be accounted for at all steps of the test administration process. SAC should shred all test tickets once testing is complete. 9

  10. Changes for 2024-2025: Tech Enhanced Questions Technology Enhanced (TE) items will expand to all subjects this spring. These item types allow students to utilize features such as click-to-respond, drag-and-drop, and text highlighting to interact with test content. Online Tools Trainings have been expanded and updated. DRC edirect 10

  11. Changes for 2024-2025: Grade 5 Science PSSA Science Assessments will be administered to students enrolled in Grade 5 and Grade 8. All students enrolled in Grade 5 and Grade 8 are required to participate. Students enrolled in Grade 4 will not take the PSSA Science Assessment. Science, Technology & Engineering, and Environmental Literacy & Sustainability (STEELS) Standards have been adopted. STEELS Standards 11

  26. Responsibilities of SACs 4 Complete Unique Assurance Forms for students needing Accommodations 6 weeks prior to testing. Provide roster with accommodations for each student to TAs ahead of testing. 26

  27. Responsibilities of SACs 5 If a student s work must be transcribed due to accommodations: SAC and a TA who has completed the PSTAT handle the transcription. One transcribes, and one serves as witness. Student s responses must be copied exactly, including errors. 27

  29. Qualifications for Test Administrators Employed or contracted directly or indirectly including student teachers who are employed by the LEA. Student teachers not employed by LEA may observe if they attend SAC training and complete the PSTAT. Completes PSTAT modules annually. Trained by SAC annually. Not forbidden from serving as TA by PDE. TSS and PCA may not serve as TA or proctor. 29

  30. Secure Materials 30

  31. Secure Materials: Storage Secure materials (test tickets) should be stored in a locked cabinet/storage room with limited access. Maintain a list of those with access to the space. Anyone with access to secure storage area, including keys, needs to attend SAC training and sign the appropriate test security certificate. 31

Secure Materials: Distribution and Collection SACs should have TAs count test tickets prior to signing the sign out/sign in sheet when distributing test tickets and when collecting test tickets. Maintain copies of sign out/sign in sheets. Test security and accounting of materials are of utmost importance. 32

  33. Secure Materials: Test Tickets Test tickets are secure materials and treated as booklets. Shred all test tickets after administration has concluded. Test security and accounting of materials remain of utmost importance. 33

  35. Required Trainings Held in Person DAC trains all SACs annually. SAC trains all TAs, Proctors, TSSs, PCAs, staff with access to secure materials (test tickets): secretarial, custodial Conduct in spring for PSSA Conduct prior to each administration for Keystone DAC and SAC must maintain copies of agendas and sign in sheets.   37. Test Security TAs should report any test security violation suspicions to the SAC immediately. If the TA believes the SAC or DAC is involved, the TA should contact PDE immediately ra-edirregularities@pa.gov. DACs or SACs should report test security violations or suspicions immediately ra-edirregularities@pa.gov. Consult the HAC for security examples. Review the Handbook for Secure Test Administration. Complete required PSTAT Trainings. 37

  38. Test Security Certifications 1 DAC SAC Building principal(s) All TAs and Proctors All individuals who handle or have access (including keys) to secure materials (test tickets): custodians, secretarial staff, support staff, TSS, PCAs, student teachers, any others involved in testing 38

  39. Test Security Certifications 2 PSSA One covers all content areas: ELA, mathematics, science. Keystone One covers all content areas: Algebra I, Biology, Literature Each administration (winter, spring, summer) requires signed certificates. Proctors of PSSA and Keystone Exams sign one for PSSA and one for Keystone exams. Certificates are located in the Appendix of the DFA, may be removed from the DFA, signed and returned to SAC. 39

  40. Test Security Certifications 3 Signed after administration is complete. Copies maintained by Chief School Administrator or designee for three years. DAC should scan and send copies of signed certificates to all SACs. Report anyone who refuses to sign the Test Security Certificate to the Chief School Administrator, to PDE ra-edirregularities@pa.gov and to Mr. Jay Gift rgift@pa.gov. 40

  42. PSTAT Requirements DACs must complete DAC, SAC and TA modules annually SACs must complete SAC and TA modules annually TAs, Proctors, TSS, PCAs must complete TA modules annually www.pstattraining.net 42

  43. PSTAT Certificates DAC or SAC maintains all PSTAT certificates. TAs can save a PDF copy of the certificate and email a copy to the SAC. The SAC can maintain electronic copies they do not need to be printed. DAC should scan and email send copies of the 3 PSTAT certificates to all SACs for monitoring. 43

  47. Spanish Assessments: Online not Available Online versions of Spanish assessments are not available for 2024-2025. Online versions of Spanish assessments will be available in 2025-2026. See the next slide for information regarding paper booklets for students needing Spanish translations. 47

Spanish Booklets: Mathematics, Science, Algebra I, Biology Spanish booklets will arrive as a single shrink-wrapped packet containing one English combined test/answer booklet and one Spanish combined test/answer booklet. Provide students with both booklets. Students may record answers using English, Spanish or a combination of both English and Spanish. If a student will record ANY portion of their responses using Spanish, the student records all answers in the Spanish booklet, and that booklet should have the pre-code label. Responses written in Spanish will not be scored if recorded in the English booklet. If a student will record ALL responses using English, the student selects and records all answers in one booklet, either English or Spanish, and that booklet should have the pre-code label. 48
