  8. Excess Screening Process 1. Site identifies an asset is excess to site need 2. Site & Program Screen the asset 3. Certified Reality Specialist (CRS) concurs 4. Asset is submitted to MA-50 for DOE Excess Screening 5. DOE Screening occurs 6. MA-50 Approves/Disapproves asset as Excess 7. If Approved, FIMS is updated by the Site 8. Proceed with GSA & HUD screening

Trailers Excessing & Disposition Complete DOE Excess Screening Process for Real Property Disposition: As either Real or Personal Property 41 CFR 102-75.160 to 170 "Designation as Personal Property" provides that prefabricated movable structures, such as Butler-type storage warehouses, Quonset huts, and house trailers (with or without undercarriages), may be designated for disposition as personal property for off-site use when the underlying land is not being disposed of. If the real property asset, meeting the criteria above, is no longer affixed to the ground, permanently connected to a utility service, and is no longer intended for permanent use it may be converted to personal property for disposal. Contact your Personal Property POC for disposal processes and requirements
