  1. DOE Wind Competition: Spring Schedule Chris Taylor Juntong Liu Abdallah AlSharrah

  2. Project Introduction: Team Turbine Electric We are Team Electric Turbine of the DOE Collegiate Wind Competition project. Our Clients are David Willy and Venkate Yarmasu. This project is a combined design by both electrical and mechanical engineering majors. Our task is to cover the design, building, and testing of a wind turbine. Juntong Liu

  3. Full Schedule: Gantt Chart Chris Taylor

  4. Chris Taylor

  5. Major Tasks AC-DC Rectifier (Start: January 21st) DC-DC Converter (Start: January 21st) Code (Start: February 1st) PCB Design (Start: February 11th) Testing and Combing Designs (Start: February 11th) Project Documentation (Start: March 11th) Abdallah AlSharrah

  6. AC-DC Rectifier January 21st - February 10th 3-Phase 6 Diodes 1 Capacitor Passive Converter Abdallah AlSharrah

  7. DC-DC Converter (Buck-Boost) Takes output from rectifier to either step up or step down voltage Arduino Code required January 21st - February 10th Chris Taylor

  8. PCB Design Feb 11th -Mar 3rd, after finishing our prototypes start PCB design. Buck-Boost converter soldered onto board to reduce wires 2 separate PCB, three phase AC-DC rectifier is on the top and DC-DC Buck-Boost converter is on the bottom. Juntong Liu

  9. Testing and Combining with Mechanical Engineers February 11th - March 25th Combine PCB with Mechanical Engineers wind turbine Starting Mid-March we will perform one wind tunnel test per week Winds up to 20m/s Juntong Liu

  10. Project Documentation Design Objectives Basic Static Performance Analysis of Mechanical Loads (Mechanical Engineers) Yaw System (Mechanical Engineers) Electrical Analysis Control Model Analysis Software Documentation Complete Results Diagrams of Design Chris Taylor

  11. Conclusion We re Skeptical on whether our best option to go with the Boost converter or the DC-DC Buck-boost Converter. We are confident on our progress building AC-DC rectifier, Boost converter, and DC-DC Buck-Boost converter. However, we re uncertain on the time frame to have it ready and done for testing.
