  1. Dual Enrollment

  2. Dual Credit Program Program developed to allow students to take dual credit courses from SD college/tech schools at a reduced rate. These dual credit courses may be actually on campus or (more often) delivered through online means. Cost is $48.33/credit plus books/materials. Students/parents are responsible for the costs. Students may take dual credit through technical schools as long as they have high school approval and as long as the student meets the enrollment requirements set forth by the tech school. Deuel HS has the final approval for which students may enroll in dual credit coursework. Credit and grades must be transcripted on the student s high school transcript and must be part of student s GPA calculation By Deuel High School policy (October 2014), students will earn 1 high school credit for every college course taken worth 3 or more credits

Dual Credit Program Eligibility Students may establish eligibility for dual credit coursework at BOR schools in the following ways: High school juniors: Earn ACT composite of 24 or higher OR Rank in upper one-third of graduating class OR Earn cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 on 4.0 scale High school seniors: Earn ACT composite of 21 OR Rank in upper one-half of graduating class OR Earn cumulative GP of at least 3.25 on 4.0 scale

Dual Credit Program Eligibility (continued) High school junior or senior that has met Undergraduate admissions requirements: ACT score of 18 (or 21 for USD & SDSM&T); AND Successful completion of coursework requirements: 4 years English 3 years advanced mathematics 3 years laboratory science 3 years social studies 1 year fine arts High School junior or senior eligible to enroll in a high school in South Dakota who meet the benchmark scores on one of the assessments listed below: Smarter Balanced Score Level 3 or higher on the English Language Arts AND Mathematics 11th Grade Assessments 10th Grade ACT Aspire Summative Assessment (Score 434 or higher) ACCUPLACER Classic (Sentence Skills Score 86 or higher AND Elementary Algebra Score 76 or higher) ACCUPLACER Next Generation3 (QAS Score 255 or higher AND Writing Score 263 or higher)
