FAQs Advanced Placement (AP) vs Dual Enrollment Advanced Placement (AP) vs Dual Enrollment Dual Enrollment Courses do not require an additional test to receive college credit while AP courses culminate with an AP exam and depending on their exam scores, students may receive college credit for AP courses. High school teachers teach AP courses, while traditionally college professors teach dual enrollment courses. What high school requirements are met through dual enrollment? Dual enrollment is a great opportunity to take challenging courses and accelerate educational opportunities. However, a serious consideration is that dual enrollment courses become part of students permanent college transcripts; if students fail, these grades could affect eligibility for financial aid and admission to other postsecondary institutions.
