DWG Report to ROS September, 2020 DWG Webex Meeting held on 8/11/2020 2020 DWG flatstart case has started Ongoing review of feedbacks and comments on CMLD language proposal for DWG procedure manual and PGRR Next DWG meeting on September 30th, 2020
Issue with Acceleration factor in Generic Models Issue with Acceleration factor in PSS/e Renewable Energy Generator/Converter Generic model (REGCAU1/REGCAU2) Convergence issue and case crashing Why?? More IBR 2ndgeneration generic models in 2020 FS cases as compared to 2019 FS cases Python script was developed to change acceleration factor of REGCAU1/REGCAU2 to 0.7 if it is originally 0 Changing the acceleration factor improve network convergence in dynamic simulation Incorporate changes in future stability studies Discussion about incorporating changes in current and future FS cases
DG Modeling consideration for DWG Looking at how DGR, SODG, and UDG aggregation can be modeled in dynamic studies? How do you decide the model type and parameterization for DGs? Issue of DERs/DGs + Composite load model (CMLD)? UFLS/UVLS models that reflect DG? Other issues pertaining to DG representation in Dynamic studies
DWG MOD-26/27 Summary Per Planning Guide and DWG Procedure Manual, a Resource Entity shall submit new or updated dynamic data within 30 days of the update Per NERC MOD-26/27, Generator Owners need to verify the models and data and provide the data to its Transmission Planner With support from TSPs, ERCOT tracks the MOD-026/27 verifications/updates and the corresponding RARF updates Only 22 out of 49 (less than 50%) MOD-26/27 model updates in 2020 were submitted to RARF without requiring additional ERCOT follow-up
