National Wide Pay Campaign National Wide Pay Campaign Inflation is now at 11% RPI. That s a 40-year high! student loans add another 3% National Insurance has Increased Government proposals mean a further 8% cut in the real value of most teachers pay this year, on top of the 21% lost since 2010 With inflation at a 40-year-high, the cost-of-living crisis will be a breaking point for many members support staff will feel the squeeze first With one third of teachers leaving the profession within 5 years, education provision itself is already beyond breaking point Government can afford to fund a pay rise of at least 9% this year Educators, education and wider society cannot afford otherwise
National Wide Pay Campaign National Wide Pay Campaign The Money Is Found When They Deem It Necessary: Britain spent 22 Billion on the Afghan war and has already found 4 Billion in military aid for the Ukraine war 37 Billion was spent on the Test & Trace debacle (that s 1/5 of the total NHS Budget) MPs gave themselves an extra 2,212 per year in April giving them 84,144 per year not including their fat expenses The Sunday Times Rich List states that the combined wealth of Britain s 250 richest people has grown by a sixth in the past year. It is up from 566 billion to 658 billion. The number of UK billionaires rose from 147 to 171 A one-off flat tax of 5 percent on all their wealth would raise 19 billion, even accounting for avoidance and the cost of setting up the scheme. An additional 5.5 Billion would restore funding in the entire education sector to 2015 levels
