ECA Follow-Up Report on Resolutions of CoM 2021 by Said Adejumobi

Progress Regional Integration and Economic Development 972 (LIII): African Continental Free Trade Area Digital trading systems & documentation: Development & deployment of 9 country profiles on digital-trade regulatory integration: identifies challenges faced & opportunities, as well as recommendations to improve digitalization. AfCFTA Agreement implementation support: Support to the implementation of 10 national AfCFTA strategies Over seven new formulated in 2021 national strategies AfCFTA Country Business Index tool developed: Using high-quality data to assess impact of the Agreement on the private sector. Deployed in 5 countries Flagship studies on: ARIA 2021 on Services Trade Liberalization & Integration under the AfCFTA A common investment area Governance interface between AfCFTA & free trade areas of regional economic communities
Progress Economic Dev. 2 975 (LIII): Sustainable industrialization and diversification of Africa in the digital era during COVID-19 977 (LIII): ECA support for LDCs in the context of the 5th UN Conference on LDCs 978 (LIII): Vienna programme of action for Landlocked developing countries for the decade 2014-2024 Support to development of industrialisation and economic diversification masterplan in the Central African region. Support to Congo s strategy to develop network connectivity for the 5th generation of mobile services Five countries supported to incorporate digital infrastructure and payments in e-government systems through an ECA fund-tracking platform Five countries supported in estimating their respective national illicit financial flows Three countries successfully aligned current national development plans with 2030 Agenda and Agenda 2063 using ECA s planning toolkit Continued advocacy of issues faced by LLDCs Worked with partners to develop guidelines to facilitate the free and timely flow of cross-border trade during pandemics.

Planning, Statistical & Data Systems 974 (LIII): Civil registration & vital statistics 973 (LIII): Development Planning Developed web-based integrated planning & reporting toolkit to strengthen alignment of global agendas with national Strengthened civil registration and vital statistics development plans systems in 18 countries using a business Technical assistance to four countries in the improvement framework utilization of the web based toolkit Capacity building support to two countries as part of support to increase adoption of the Integrated Geospatial Information Framework in Africa.
Progress Response and recovery from COVID-19 976 (LIII): Coronavirus disease vaccines 980 (LIII): Special drawing rights $650 billion in special drawing rights issued ($33 billion allocated to African Countries) Worked with AVAT to secure up to 510 million doses of the J&J and Moderna vaccines. Extension of the Debt Service Suspension Initiative Historic partnership with World Bank to ensure financing for vaccine acquisition and administration Launch of the Liquidity and Sustainability Facility Support to Partnership for African Vaccine Manufacturing Negotiation of affordable vaccine prices
