  1. 1/5 DAY 3 THE AMERICAN SYSTEM- TAKE OUT YOUR STATION 1 G.O. PG.2 OR MAKE IT. STATION 1 Learning Target: I can explain how the economic systems of the north and south developed differently. (write on top of the back of note sheet) HW: 5/6 Graphic Organizer on separate piece of paper due tomorrow.

  2. Put these notes on the back of your G.O. CLAY S AMERICAN SYSTEM- CREATE A UNIFIED NATION! (MAKE SURE THIS IS ON TOP) NATIONALISM- Created a canal and road (turnpike) system to connect the West to the East. PROTECTIVE TARIFFS used as a way to BUY AMERICAN. Ideally the North buys cotton from the South, the South buys finished goods from the North. SECTIONALISM- South/West angry because TARIFFs raise prices on all goods. Canals and roads benefit North.
