And Moses called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. (2 Cor 4:5 7 KJV)

  7. Educational Ideology John Dewey (1859-1952) believed that learning was active and schooling unnecessarily long and restrictive. His idea was that children came to school to do things and live in a community which gave them real, guided experiences which fostered their capacity to contribute to society. For example, Dewey believed that students should be involved in real-life tasks and challenges. * maths could be learnt via learning proportions in cooking or figuring out how long it would take to get from one place to another by mule * history could be learnt by experiencing how people lived, geography, what the climate was like, and how plants and animals grew, were important subjects. Dewey had a gift for suggesting activities that captured the center of what his classes were studying. Dewey's education philosophy helped forward the "progressive education" movement, and spawned the development of "experiential education" programs and experiments.

  8. Educational Ideology Dewey is lauded as the greatest educational thinker of the 20th century. His theory of experience continues to be much read and discussed not only within education, but also in psychology and philosophy. Dewey's views continue to strongly influence the design of innovative educational approaches, such as in outdoor education, adult training, and experiential therapies. In the 1920's / 1930's, John Dewey became famous for pointing out that the authoritarian, strict, pre-ordained knowledge approach of modern traditional education was too concerned with delivering knowledge, and not enough with understanding students' actual experiences. Dewy's approach to education was a divergence from the accepted method. Although many would consider his methods innovated and successful it moved the model form the concrete to the abstract. From memorization to vocalization. Dewy's approach to education would effect religion as well. Those who would be educated under his approach would bring that approach into religious matters. This in turn would effect the way God's Word would be presented and received. This would eventually give way to what would come to be known as "Life Application Preaching and Presentation" or "Relevancy Preaching." The Apostle Paul taught that all Scripture should be relevant to us (2 Tim 3:16 Cf Acts 20:20,26-27).

  9. Talking Salvation Talking We must realize the continuous nature of this process We often believe that we must have the talk about salvation

  10. Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these (Deut 6:4 9 KJV)

  11. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned (2 Tim 3:14 17 KJV)

  12. Talking Salvation Talking Salvation What is it all about? Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it beevil. (Eccl 12:13-14) The entirety of the Scriptures is about salvation through Jesus Christ And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. (Luke 24:44 KJV) The Scriptures reveal to us how an All-Powerful, All-Knowing, All-Present, Holy, Righteous, Just, Kind, and Merciful God, can save humanity, His creation...

  13. Talking Salvation Talking Salvation Good News Bad News

  14. Talking Salvation Talking Salvation Bad News Sin has entered into this world and death by sin (Rom 5:12-15) Sin is doing what God said not to do and not doing what God said to do Doing what I want to do and not doing what I don t

  18. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. (1 John 2:15 17 KJV)

  19. Talking Salvation Talking Salvation Bad News (Gen 2:16-17 Cf 3:1-15) The consequence of sin is death (Gen 2:16-17). Satan stated the opposite of what God said (Gen 3:4) We will all die and be judged by our lives

  20. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (Heb 9:27 KJV) For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things (2 Cor 5:10 KJV)

  22. But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that (Gal 4:4 7 KJV)

  23. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham,

  24. Talking Salvation Talking Salvation Good News God s love and mercy transcends man s iniquity (Rom 5:6-6:23)

  25. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. (Rev 22:14 KJV)

  26. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (Gal 6:7 9 KJV)
