THE EFFECY OF CORE TRAINING ON INCREASING ABDOMINAL MUSCLE STRENGTH ENDURANCE OF BADMINTON ATHLETES AKIFAH ZALFA SALSABILA (2004032) SPORT COACHING EDUCATION, FACULTY OF SPORT AND HEALTH EDUCATION, UNIVERSITAS PENDIDIKAN INDONESIA
INTRODUCTIONS Physical condition is a very influential need in efforts to improve the performance of an athlete, even said to be a support that cannot be delayed (Zhannisa & Sugiyanto, 2015). Good physical condition is needed to achieve an achievement in badminton to support the application of tactics, techniques and mentality when practicing and competing (Aprilia, 2018). The most dominant physical conditions in badminton are leg muscle explosive power, endurance, agility, and speed (Zhannisa, et al. 2018). The components that determine achievement are balance and abdominal muscle strength (Astiti Suadnyana, et al. 2018). Supporting all the muscles used when playing badminton are the core or abdominal muscles, triceps, and also the chest muscles (Aziz, et al. 2021). In a series of physical requirements, core strength training plays a very important role, as the power center of the body, it is not only necessary for athletes to perform fast movements, instant acceleration, and high-intensity blows, but also plays an important role in maintaining balance and stability and preventing injuries (Zeng & Sun, 2024). Core Strength Training can improve badminton players' fitness (strength, stability), skills and position of hitting movements (Ma, et al. 2024). power, balance, and
RESEARCH OBJECTIVES PROBLEM FORMULATION To examine the effect of core training on increasing the endurance of abdominal muscle strength in badminton athletes. To examine the effect of core training on increasing the endurance of abdominal muscle strength of badminton athletes. To examine the difference between core training and core training exercises on increasing the endurance of abdominal muscle strength of badminton athletes. Is there a significant difference in the effect of core training on increasing the endurance of abdominal muscle strength of badminton athletes? Is there a significant difference in the effect of conventional training on increasing the endurance of abdominal muscle athletes? Is there a significant difference in the effect between core training and conventional training on increasing the endurance of abdominal muscle strength of badminton athletes? strength of badminton
METHODS This study uses an experimental method. Treatment was carried out for 12 meetings. The population in this study was 50 athletes, and the sampling used purposive sampling so that the sample was 20 athletes. The research design used was pretest-posttest control group design (Sugiyono, 2016). The instrument used in this study was the Sit UpTest. The analysis techniques used were normality test, homogeneity test, paired sample T-test and independent sample T-test.
RESULT AND DISCUSSIONS 1. NORMALITY TEST Based on this table, it shows that all data owned both pre and post tests have a significance value of more than 0.05, so Ho is accepted. So it can be concluded that both data are normally distributed. 2. HOMOGENITY TEST This homogeneity test uses the Lavene test. Based on the table, the significance value is 0.532> 0.05, so Ho is accepted. So it can be concluded that the data has the same group variance (homogeneous).
RESULT AND DISCUSSIONS 3. PAIRED SAMPLE T-TEST Based on the improvement table of the two groups, both the experimental group (left) and the control group (right) both show a significance value of 0.001 <0.05. This indicates that Ho is rejected. 4. INDEPENDENT SAMPLE T-TEST Based on this table, the data from the post-test results of the experimental group and control group show a sig value of 0.826> 0.05. This shows that H03is rejected and Ha3is accepted. This explains that there is no difference between core training and conventional training on increasing the strength endurance of badminton athletes.
CONCLUSION Based on data processing, research results, calculations, and data analysis from research entitled "The Effect of Core Training on Increasing Abdominal Muscle Strength Endurance of Badminton Athletes" it can be seen that the experimental group has an average increase of 12.0%. while the control group has an average increase of 12.8%. from these data it can be concluded that core training and conventional training can increase abdominal muscle strength endurance, but there is no significant difference in influence between core training and conventional training on increasing the strength endurance of badminton athletes. There is a significant effect of core training on increasing the endurance of abdominal muscle strength of badminton athletes. There is a significant effect of conventional training on increasing the endurance of abdominal muscle strength of badminton athletes. There is no significant difference in the effect between core training and conventional training on increasing the endurance of abdominal muscle strength of badminton athletes.
