  1. THE EFFECT OF IMPLEMENTING HIGH-LOAD AND HIGH-REPETITION TRAINING ON THE ENDURANCE CAPABILITY OF ROWING ATHLETES SITI JULAEHA 2008526 UNIVERSITAS PENDIDIKAN INDONESIA

  2. introduction According to (Jaya & Rohmat, 2019) In rowing, certain characteristics are required, such as high aerobic capacity and good coordination. In the sport of rowing, athletes primarily need to possess endurance. According to (T. O. Bompa & Buzzichelli, 2019) High-load training is a very important concept in the field of fitness and sports. And some authors report that the use of high- load training can have a significant effect on increasing endurance. According to (Anderson & Kearney, 1982). High-repetition exercises allow muscles to work for longer periods of time without tiring too quickly. This can help improve muscular endurance, which is beneficial for activities that require high levels of endurance. Research (Willian P Ebben et.al., 2004) Regarding "the effect of high-load vs. high- repetition training on endurance performance," it states that high-load and high- repetition training are equally effective for athletes' endurance abilities.

  3. Formulation of the problem Is there a significant influence of the application of high-load training on the endurance capabilities of rowing athletes? Is there a significant influence of the application of high-repetition training on the endurance capabilities of rowing athletes? Is there a significant influence between the application of high-load and high-repetition training on the endurance capabilities of rowing athletes?

  4. library study According to Bompa (2009:4) Exercise is a systematic sporting activity over a long period of time. Systematic exercise means planning on a scheduled basis, according to a particular systemic pattern, methodical, and programmed on a regular basis. According to Sukadiyanto (2011: hlm 25) It states that exercise is the process of accumulation of various components of activity such as: duration, distance, frequency, quantity, repetition, load, rhythm performing, intensity, volume, giving rest time. According to Bompa (2019 hlm 71) In the book "theory and methodology of training" it is stated that the simplest definition of volume is the total number of activities performed by training. According to Bompa (1999, hlm 108) It suggests that the number of rowing sports requires aerobic endurance and stamina to produce very strong movements against the water. According to Nurjaya (2002, hlm. 17) explains that, some of the physical aspects that must be in the field sports are: "Strength, speed and endurance speed, maximum strength, muscle endurance, coordination, flexibility, and power".

  5. hypothesis There is a significant influence of the application of high-load training on the endurance ability of rowing athletes. There is a significant influence of the application of high-load training on the endurance ability of rowing athletes. There is no significant influence between the application of high-load and high-repetition training on the endurance ability of rowing athletes.

  8. Discourse According to (Duncan Macdougall et al., 1998; Rodas et al. n.d.; Tabata, 1997) the use of High-Load training can have a significant effect on increasing aerobic training endurance markers. According to (T. O. Bompa & Buzzichelli, 2019), high-repetition exercises require athletes to perform continuously, with low intensity and high volume, and over a long period of time is an exercise of endurance skills. High-load and high-repetition training methods have been shown to improve the endurance ability of rowing athletes, and for significance based on the above graph shows that there are no significant differences in the athlete's endurance abilities, as both exercises have a good effect on the enduring ability of athlets.

  9. conclusion explains that, some of the physical aspects that must be in the field sports are: "Strength, speed and endurance speed, maximum strength, muscle endurance, coordination, flexibility, and power". advice In this study, despite the influence of high-load and high-repetition exercises on endurance, the author realizes that there are still many shortcomings in this study. The shortcomers that the author recognizes in this research are the writing of scientific papers, the use of research methods that are not yet perfect, research variables that can still be developed and training programmes that are still not perfect.
