Become an effective ambassador for Christ Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are Christ s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ s behalf: Be reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:17-20) Sent by God Deliver the message of reconciliation Go everywhere throughout my life

How to be an ambassador for Christ? Understand clearly your position as an ambassador You are Christ s representative on earth. You speak His Word and you like out His Word in your daily life For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (Ephesians 5:8) so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky (Ephesians 2:15) Understand clearly your mission as an ambassador Your mission is to take Christ s message to people. The decision is theirs. They are not rejecting you, but Christ. Therefore, anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who gives you his Holy Spirit (1 Thessalonians 4:8)
Understand clearly your message as an ambassador Christ has given to you a glorious message to take to the world. Ambassadors were not sent without a message. They were sent with a message of comfort, love, peace and kindness. It is your privilege and responsibility to take this glorious message to those who need it (your neighbor, co-worker, friend, community, other cities) Understand clearly your strategy as an ambassador The strategy is not wait for people to come to you, but go to them and make disciples of all nations. The Lord s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia your faith in God has become known everywhere (1 Thessalonians 1:8)
The amazing growth of the early church In those days Peter stood up among the believers (a group numbering about a hundred and twenty) (Acts 1:15) Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day (Acts 2:41) Praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved (Acts 2:47) But many who heard the message believed; so the number of men who believed grew to about five thousand (Acts 4:4)
More and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number (Acts 5:18) We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name, he said. Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man s blood (Acts 5:28) So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith (Acts 6:7) When they heard this, they praised God. Then they said to Paul: You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews have believed, and all of them are zealous for the law (Acts 21:20)
Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah (Acts 5:42) Worship= a large group Fellowship= small groups
Success Temple courts (come and see) House to house (go and tell)
House churches in the New Testament Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my co-workers in Christ Jesus greet also the church at their house (Romans 16:3,5). also to Apphia our sister and Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church that meets in your home (Philemon 1:2) The churches in the province of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Priscilla greet you warmly in the Lord, and so does the church that meets at their house (1 Corinthians 16:19) Give my greetings to the brothers and sisters at Laodicea, and to Nympha and the church in her house (Colossians 4:15)
