How To Study The Bible Class Two Welcome!
Welcome to How to Study the Bible! Our textbook for this course is by Rick Warren
The Devotional Study Method The Devotional Study Method is a method of study where you study a passage of the Bible, large or small, and meditate on it until the Holy Spirit guides you to an application of the passage for your own life. The goal of this method is for you to take the Bible seriously and do what it says.
The Devotional Study Method 1. Choose a scripture passage. 2. Prayerfully meditate on that passage and ask for understanding. 3. Make the scripture personal, practical, possible, and provable. 4. Allow the Holy Spirit to help you apply the truth(s) of the passage to your own life.
The Devotional Study Method Always make it: 1. Personal-use the words I, me, my, and mine. 2. Practical-Something you can do. 3. Possible-It should be something attainable. 4. Provable-Share it with someone who will hold you accountable.
