Sharing Knowledge Knowledge is POWER Equip yourself and your team with as much knowledge as you can. o Show your team how all the pieces of the pictures fit together. o Demonstrate how the team makes a difference to the members.   6. Providing Feedback People need to know how they are doing. Tell them how they re doing as a team without getting angry. Be honest, but also respectful. Give detailed feedback in order for them to fix their mistakes. CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education

  8. Transparency Being open with your actions and opinions Walk your talk Don t make up exaggerations or pretenses of things that are not true I.E. Saying that you are almost done with the MRF when you have not started yet Working with others is much easier if you can explain the situation thoroughly CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education

Short vs. Long Distance In-Person Communication Establish a meeting frequency between officers Host a quarterly meeting discussing club progress, revisiting goals, training, etc. Long Distance Communication Phone Calls, emails, video chat Video Chat: skype, google hangouts, etc. Emails: Official Text / Calls: Immediate Response Establish a call frequency for progress reports CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education

  10. What happens when communication goes wrong? Let s say someone criticizes you for not communicating effectively Attempt to resolve the conflict. Use your listening skills during this process. Empathize and think of the other person s feelings. Encourage other people to feel welcome, wanted, valued and appreciated in your communications.
