Professional & Leadership Development Offer leadership training, professional development, and team-building exercises. 3. Increase Participation Engage more members in service projects, diversify volunteer roles, and emphasize hands-on service over financial contributions alone. 4. Sustaining Growth & Impact Retain younger members, continue successful projects while exploring new ones, and develop fundraisers that provide both financial and engagement benefits. OVERALL GOALS:
Step By Step Action Plan Step 1: Strengthen Club Experience & Retention 3 Starting July 1st through December 31st then update as needed : Improve Member Onboarding and Engagement Goal: Make the club more welcoming and ensure new members find a meaningful place in Rotary. Step 1: Develop a Structured Onboarding Process (Weeks 1-4) Membership Chair & Club President Assign a Rotary Buddy to each new member. Conduct a new member orientation with an introduction to service opportunities and committees. Have a "Getting to Know You" session where members share their passions and skills. Public Image Team Support: Capture photos and testimonials from new members and share on social media to highlight engagement. Step 2: Match Members to Service Opportunities (Ongoing) Committee Chairs Create a skills and interests survey to identify how members want to contribute. Personally invite members to join committees aligned with their interests. Public Image Team Support: Create a short video or post featuring different committee leaders explaining their roles. Step 3: Foster an Inclusive & Supportive Culture (Ongoing) Club Leadership Encourage a welcoming atmosphere at meetings (greet guests, icebreakers, personal check-ins). Recognize and celebrate member contributions regularly. Public Image Team Support: Feature a "Member of the Month" spotlight on social media and newsletters. Success Metric: Improve member retention rate by 10% within the first year.
4 Step 2: Professional & Leadership Development Starting October 1st through June 30th Goal #1: Provide value through leadership training, skill-building and networking Step 1: Offer Leadership & Professional Development (Months 4-6) Training Coordinator & Club President-Elect Partner with Toastmasters, Kansas Leadership Center, or Dale Carnegie for leadership workshops. Host quarterly networking sessions with guest speakers. Provide mentorship opportunities where experienced members guide newer ones. Public Image Team Support: Promote workshops and highlight key takeaways in club communications. Step 2: Build Personal & Career Development Opportunities (Ongoing) Professional Development Chair Organize career advancement seminars. Develop volunteer matchmaking to align service with professional skills. Public Image Team Support: Capture testimonials from members who benefited from these events and share success stories. Success Metric: Achieve at least 50% member participation in one professional development event per year.
5 Step 3: Increase Hands-On Participation & Sustaining Growth Starting July 1st through December 31st then update as needed : Engage More Members in Service & Retention Strategies Goal: Ensure all members are actively involved and fulfilled in Rotary activities Step 1: Diversify & Expand Volunteer Opportunities (Months 6-12) Service Project Chair Introduce micro-volunteering for members with limited availability. Rotate leadership roles to give more members a chance to lead. Public Image Team Support: Share behind-the-scenes photos and videos of members participating in service projects. Step 2: Retain Younger Members & Improve Club Culture (Ongoing) Membership Chair Conduct annual surveys to understand what younger members want. Establish a mentorship program to foster growth and engagement. Provide flexible engagement options, such as alternative meeting formats. Public Image Team Support: Develop content showcasing young members and their impact in Rotary. Step 3: Recognize & Reward Engagement (Ongoing) Recognition Committee Use an engagement tracker to measure member participation. Establish recognition awards for active members. Feature engaged members in newsletters & social media. Public Image Team Support: Create engaging graphics and videos to highlight member achievements. Success Metric: Maintain a 75%+ participation rate in at least one service project annually.
