Build a mini plan for your campaign BUILD A CASE FOR GIVING / CASE FOR SUPPORT Story and reasons for giving to be used in letters, brochures, e-mails, etc. Unique value proposition RECRUIT A COMMITTEE TO HELP Consider skills that complement yours Consider engaged, enthusiastic, well-liked candidates Provide orientation (sessions or 1 on 1 share plan and case) Assign specific roles to each member Meet regularly as a group / report Set goals (financial and others)
Best Practices CHOSE A CAMPAIGN FUNDRAISING METHOD(s) Cash + monthly donations Product drives Special events / fundraisers Pledging Raffles, auctions, etc. PROMOTE & ADVERTISE YOUR CAMPAIGN Important dates, kick-off event, closing ceremony, etc. Special events to promote, support and talk about your campaign Report progress often (thermometers, emails, etc.) Use tools already available (bulletins, newsletters, website, social media, etc.) Use leaders to help promote and support your campaign (Priests, Deacons, Councils, etc.) EVALUATE AND DOCUMENT YOUR CAMPAIGN Thank volunteers + donors Report final results + celebrate Save the information in the parish files, database, etc.

Promote monthly + recurring giving where possible 6.- Secure big gifts first to create momentum 7. Use matching gift where possible and suggested amounts 9. Thank recognize donors volunteers often 10. Reach out to others (parishes, groups, diocese for coaching, advise, feedback) You are not alone 11. Goal should be realistic, achievable, yet challenging

People learn in different ways/different styles Stories that pull at the heart strings (need, numbers helped, lives changed, etc.) Stats + numbers (tax advantages, benefits of giving) Ease of giving (online, monthly recurring, bank, credit card, cash, shares transfers) Some prefer anonymous donations, but most like recognition Meeting with potential donors (one on one or casual) Document everything in database and/or files
Tips + Tricks For us Catholics our work and fundraising is for the good of the Church. Let s keep God at the centre of what we do stewardship is important to us. Recruit people for specific TASKS they are good at versus overwhelming them with regular meetings and various works (some people! busy people!) Consider most needed skills for your team (accounting, marketing, sales, organizers, spokesman/presenter, etc.). Consider succession planning have last year s Coordinator/Chair on your team and next year s Coordinator/Chair on your team.
Tips + Tricks A communications plan can go a long way (videos, emails, letters, social media, website, newsletters, etc.) Relax, be yourself, be happy it shows! - Give/donate yourself to campaign before you ask others to join you - Have fun, celebrate different successes, do your best! - Learn, add new things, as you go along and change as needed Use the internet to get the tools you need - You can find almost any type of document, spreadsheets, letters, ideas, events, do s + don'ts, FAQ s, stories, etc. Include your skills on your resume, Linkedin, etc.
