Helps you clarify the context/ purpose/direction of the session Helps reduce any anxiety you may have Allows you to anticipate and avoid any difficulties that may arise Gives you the space before the session to create the right atmosphere

  6. Pre Pre- -Planning Planning - - Equipment Equipment Check your laptop Mouse Clicker Have materials available on desktop Don t just rely on bringing a memory stick in your pocket Practice in advance the routine of setting up etc-

  7. Pre Pre- -Planning Planning - - Venue Venue Find out what equipment does the venue have? Laptop? Data projector? Flip Chart? Does it have internet? - (only if you need it). What room layout does it have? What time is coffee? Is it actually booked?

Be sure you have materials Plan how they will be distributed Have a plan B (Numbers / room layout / Time issues) Try to anticipate questions or people going off point

  11. Before the Session Before the Session Arrive early Set up all equipment in plenty of time Lay out all your notes/ materials Check roll sheet (and start it before the session) Try to find some time to get to know a few participants
